The Dangers of Weight Loss Drugs

As the world's population continues to increase, the problem of obesity also increases; this situation is not only affecting adults but an increasing number of young people who are also succumbing to this modern day condition. Some people go to extreme lengths to change this situation for example with surgery; the most productive method is by exercising more frequently and changing what you eat. Of course if you are really in a hurry then you can always use weight loss medication to speed the process up.

These drugs usually work buy telling the brain it's no longer hungry, stimulating metabolism to aid the shedding of excess fat. Unfortunately for the manufacturers, it was found that incidence of heart valve disease were connected to the use of the weight control pills and were rapidly removed from the shelves. Of course the manufacturers did not give up that easily and new drugs were created, these drugs are still being prescribed even though the Federal Drug Administration has not yet approved them.

The chances are that if you asked enough people, someone will say they have used them and been happy with the results. The idea that a simple drug can change your body shape without the need to change the diet or sacrificing those pleasures in life can be very tempting. Many millions of dollars are spent each year in The United States alone whilst the drug manufacturers spend huge sums on further research into weight loss drugs.

Despite the advances in weight control pills there are still health problems, some of which people are sickness and diarrhea. You must check the packet carefully before you decide to use them because some of the other side effects can be even more harmful, like the possibility of a heart attack or even a stroke, with hallucinations, tremors, breathing problems and convulsions all recorded as side effects for users of these drugs.

It is always a good idea to see your doctor first before you take any course of drugs; this can lower the possibility of some side effects occurring, although this may depend on the genetic makeup of the person using them. Other problems may also occur when the pills are discontinued. The side effects experienced by users of weight loss pills can include noticeable mood swings, hyper-activity, stomach pains, insomnia, nightmares, severe irritability, extreme fatigue, depression, nausea, vomiting and trembling.

Many clinical tests will show that the weight loss drugs taken to reduce weight really work but this can only be done in conjunction with a low calorie diet and an exercise plan. A diet that is full of foods such as oats, rice, cereals, potatoes, vegetables and fruits contain a good supply of vitamins, minerals and essential fiber.

Of course this should always be combined with a good exercise routine which will use up excess calories and provide a good all round fitness workout. The most efficient exercise should be regular and contain a mixture of cardiovascular (walking, swimming etc.) and weight training using machines to build muscle, burn off excess calories and lose the extra pounds.

After giving birth to my second child I finally found out what a weight problem was, for five and a half years I carried around an extra 30kgs all of which I couldn't get rid of no matter how hard I tried. Research led me to compile an eating plan using every day foods, this plan has helped me to lose 24kg so far, no food is eliminated and nothing is considered cheating.

If I could show you a way to lose weight without pills, potions or replacement shakes would you be interested?

If so check out Get Fit After Kids this book was written by me to help anyone with a weight problem.
